Tweedmouth

ŔOARK

Sweeping guitar tones and rich vocal harmonies. Original songs and the occasional interesting Hendrix/Bowie type cover. Always a hint of Blues, often a touch of Stones style Gospel harmony. A 4 piece that sounds way bigger than the sum of its parts.

About The Event

After a "brief" 17 year break from regular live performance local Guitarist/Singer Marcus Paine (ex Rilla and current STRAWMAN) had the good fortune to meet local renowned Guitarist Nick Holmes, ( At Sea, ex-Ordinary Son.....etc.) unsurprisingly in The local Guitar shop and via Ex Rilla band member David Faill.

In the midst of Covid entrenched 2020 the two began jamming and instantly developed  a really fresh creative sound based around epic guitar tones and the interaction between their two distinct playing styles. This quickly inspired MP to lose the writers block he had been hugging all these years and to begin writing new material. As the idea developed it became clear that the songs were being created around strong harmonic vocals and so our friends and brilliant local singers Sophie Armstrong (Summerland) and Tamsin Davidson were invited to join.... and the ROARK project was born. Named Roark after the old English term for "Rock" or " Stone" the band debuted supporting brilliant local singer songwriter Mark Reid to a packed out REPAS7 and have since played the Radio Rooms weekend open air and a Holmesfest Party to much acclaim.

Back now with further new material and a few interesting covers. The Mighty Roark!

Support from Andrew Valentine!
