Sound and Vision Film Night: Promising Young Woman

Sound & Vision's film night for November will be 'Promising Young Woman', directed by Emerald Fennell ('Killing Eve' writer) and with an amazing lead performance by Carey Mulligan. 

Cassie is nearly 30, living with her parents, and working in a coffee shop; she's trying to deal with a traumatic event in her past with a highly original method of spotlighting some men's behaviour towards women. The film deals with toxic masculinity and unearned privilege in a surprisingly entertaining, if sometimes (very) uncomfortable way. Brilliant writing; this film stays with you long after it finishes.
