About The Event
August's Sound & Vision's film night will be showing 'The Straight Story' at 7pm on Sunday 8th August.
Directed by David Lynch, it's based on the true story of Alvin Straight, a 73-yr-old living in Iowa, whose hips are shot, is diabetic, has emphysema and bad eyesight.He finds out his estranged brother has had a heart attack and decides to visit, but as he can't drive due to ill health, sets out on his sit-on lawnmower to travel 240 miles. A road trip with a difference.
