About The Event
Women in Music ; Sunday the 1st Aug
This exciting event is being hosted in conjunction with Berwick Educational Association and made possible by the generous support of the Joicey Trust and another charitable trust.Â
We will host 4 amazing women in music at different stages of their musical journeys and with a wealth of different skills and experiences. They will present short talks about their experience of the music industry followed by or intertwined with musical  performances.Â
1.30pm doors // 2pm startÂ

2pm // Tasha Blackmore will perform three of her songs and talk about her hopes and aspirations on her journey as a singer/songwriter. Â Â

Tasha is a Pop/Country Singer & Songwriter born in Eyemouth and living in Northumberland; she has a heart full of Nashville inspiring her story-telling song-writing style coupled with a passion for pop music, producing her own unique sound. Â

2.15pm // Sam Lord and Tasha Blackmore // Sam and Tasha will perform together then Sam will talk about her own career and her experience in nurturing aspiring performers.

2.30 // Sam Lord // Sam is an accomplished pianist and woodwind specialist. A Head of Music for 13 years, Sam nurtured many a young talent as well developing educational programmes including Young Singing Leaders and Songwaves across 8 schools in Northumberland and the Borders.Â
A composer and arranger for several groups in the Borders, Sam is an established performer in many different ensembles - Baders and Borders Big Bands, Earl Grey Saxes, Ocks Ceilidh, Berwick Festival Opera and the Scottish Romance Orchestra, to name a few.Â
3.30pm // Jenny Gilberg is an award-winning steel pan player and has performed in many prestigious national and international events, festivals and competitions, both as a soloist and also with various bands.
4.30pm // Miss Mixtape is an Edinburgh based DJ. Creator of No Scrubs DJ collective and No Scrubs club nights. She has a wealth of experience within the electronic music industry
